I was in Houston during Ike too. Wow, what a mess. I didnt have water for a week. It was sooo hot. We had to dip the water out of the pool. Makes for interesting memories now though. I have since moved to east texas and hopefully out of harm’s way for hurricanes.

There really is more to Kemah than bad storms! The worst thing about IKE was that the Crab House closed.. and (I live in Houston) we were out of power for two weeks. Glad to hear you are ok.

Na, not my first one. I have lived (off and on via military) in Houston, TX since I was a kid so this isn’t my first one. Florida is pretty much used to it and setup for it, we just don’t get them that much and were caught off guard, kind of like Katrina did to New Orleans.

I spend most of my towns in our house in Cloudcroft, NM… worse thing there is snow. I have gotten used to it up there.
