When you first start a blog you have notepads full of article ideas all about stuff you are really passionate about, but then as time goes on and you’ve wasted through the list, you find yourself stumped on what to write about next.

Everyone with a successful blog can tell you that if you don’t keep a posting schedule and you fall behind, your blog will fail. So what do you do when you run out of ideas for articles?

My favorite method for coming up with ideas is from RSS feeds. I use Google Reader and have about 60 rss feeds that I get daily from all kinds of niches. Sites like Geekologie.com , LifeHacker.com and other tech sites often crawl RSS feeds to find articles for their sites. There’s nothing like stealing your content from other sites I tell ya!

Just make sure you give a link back to the author or blog at the bottom of your article and never, and I mean never, copy and paste their content as your own. Not only is this trashy and wrong, but Google will penalize you both for duplicate content.

This method doesn’t really hold well in the MMO (Making Money Online) niche crowd. I have been tempted to write articles on methods I learned from Jason over at TheUniversityKid.com even though I changed them up a bit and are having successes with them.

But I do use this method for finding articles to write about for blogs I am flipping. So signup to Google Reader and start subscribing. Starting with mine. :)

If you like this post then consider subscribing to my RSS feed. You can also subscribe by email and have new posts sent directly to your inbox.

I decided to install CommentLuv and NoFollow Free on this blog. So after at least 1 post, your links will show up nofollow free and CommentLuv will try and grab the latest post from your blog and display it in your comment.

This will allow search engines to crawl from my blog to your blog. As you probably already know, the nofollow tag is usually put into hypertext links by WordPress so search engines do not follow that link. That is just bad practice in my opinion. Wheres the share love in that?

I figure if you take the time to visit my blog and comment, you should benefit from that with some share love. Just make sure feedburner redirect isn’t stealing your follow. Read this great article on how to turn off feedburner redirects.

So enjoy commenting here and reap the benefits as soon as I get some Google PR. :)
