My favorite is ‘All in One SEO‘ which allows me to dial in keywords and descriptions for each post instead of using the blogs main index information.

This is a list of my favorites and their descriptions:

GoCodes – This plugin allows me to hide my affiliate links with a simple redirect. Example: www.site.com/go/affiliatelink

Feed Footer – This plugin allows me to add advertisements to the bottom of my rss feeds. It allows you to select different advertisements for up to 10 individual feeds.

Brian’s Threaded Comments – This plugin allows for threaded comments under my posts. This plugin is a must!

Lighter Menus – This plugin is for the admin area of wordpress. This makes navigating the admin area easier and it maked it look much better.

Admin Management Xtended – This plugin is also for the admin area of wordpress. It makes managing posts easier.

MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer – This plugin prevents wordpress from over-pinging your updates which can lead to update bans. By default, wordpress will ping the feed sites whenever you post, edit or change anything. That is a serious flaw that can get you banned. This plugin is a must!

UBD Block Ads – This plugin allows you to easily display and rotate your 125×125 ads on any sidebar.

WassUp – This plugin allows you to view the traffic activity of your blog and shows what is real organic traffic and what is spam or bots. Very useful plugin.

WP-DBManager – This plugin allows you to manually backup or set scheduled backups of your wordpress database and also allows you to optimize your database to make it run faster. I really recommend this plugin.

These are other ones I use and recommend but don’t feel strongly enough about to write a description about:

Akismet, Google XML Sitemaps, MaxPressBlog Stripe Ad, Secure-Contact, Sociable, Subscribe to Comments, Ultimate Google Analytics, WP-Ban and WP YouTube.

All these plugins are great and should get your blog up and going nicely. They have made my life much easier.

I do like the new layout in the plugins section and I like the new word count feature when writing posts. This will come in handy when writing paid reviews that require a minimum word count.

Other than those small things there is something called Google Gears which is supposed to cache css and javascript on the users computer to speed up WordPress. It claims to speed up load times of your blog pages by a few seconds. We will see if this works or not after I activate it.

So for now, all is good with the WordPress 2.6 upgrade.
