We are NoFollow Free with CommentLuv

By Jason | Jul 26, 2008

I decided to install CommentLuv and NoFollow Free on this blog. So after at least 1 post, your links will show up nofollow free and CommentLuv will try and grab the latest post from your blog and display it in your comment.

This will allow search engines to crawl from my blog to your blog. As you probably already know, the nofollow tag is usually put into hypertext links by Wordpress so search engines do not follow that link. That is just bad practice in my opinion. Wheres the share love in that?

I figure if you take the time to visit my blog and comment, you should benefit from that with some share love. Just make sure feedburner redirect isn’t stealing your follow. Read this great article on how to turn off feedburner redirects.

So enjoy commenting here and reap the benefits as soon as I get some Google PR. :)

This is a perfect idea to get more comments as well as to reduce the bounce rate. I am going to follow this trend for my blog. But we should be very careful to assassinate the spammers…

Actually i still don’t understand what is the purpose of Dofollow and Nofollow even i have Google it up and read some articles.

Can you please explain more about it ? Is Nofollow better or Dofollow better ?

NoFollow tags tell the search engine spider not to follow those links which means they won’t index them along with your site.

DoFollow tags tell the search engine spider to follow those links and from what I read, also share in PageRank. It is better for SEO also by providing a linkback count.

Currently my Google PR is 3. Anyone that comments twice will get nofollow removed from their links. The more links you have on higher PR sites will raise your PR level as well.

Take a look at this chart: http://tnx.net/google-pr.php

According to the chart it takes 3 links from a PR3 site to obtain PR2 for your site. 18 links from a PR3 to obtain a PR3 on your site. And so on and so on.

Bottom line is, if you comment on sites with nofollow free and commentluv plugins, you will get a higher PR and more likely to get cross traffic from the blog.

I am a big fan of dofollow, and I too use it. So feel free to hit me up with comments.

Excellent choice I have both of them on my blog as well.

You have now taught an old dog a new trick.

I wasn’t aware of the links of a PR 3 being able to increase your rating. Cool

    Thanks for the heads up

The higher the pr site, the better your site will be seen by google. I have heard both ways on the this subject. I have also heard that google will punish you if you are posting on sights that have no relevance to the site you are linking back to. Those crawlers can see a lot more than you think. Don’t spam either or you definitely will be punished.
